Computer Science Teaching at Different Levels of Schools

Science is one of the activities that people have made up to meet their own needs and wants. The "Search for Truth" became the most important reason for studying science. The scientific policy resolution of the Government of Pakistan says, "The most important thing in the modern world is the intensive, large-scale cultivation of science and its use to meet the needs of the country." The main goal of education should be to help a person grow intellectually. Computer science is becoming a more important part of general knowledge as it becomes more and more important in our society. The best way to promote scientific education is to put a lot of emphasis on intellectual activities in general. Schools give computer science lessons a lot of importance right from the first grade. Computer science is becoming more and more important in schools.

At primary levels

The computer is being used to display the lessons in the form of Rhymes, Games, and Browsing Interactive mode. As per the Cognitive Development theories by Piaget and Bruner, the child learns through Senses, Icons, and the Enactive mode of representations. So a number of hands-on experiences are given to the children at this level. Moreover, simple software applications are taught. Example. LOGO, MS PAINT

Secondary At the Secondary level, computer skills are developed. Application soft wares like Ms. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are taught. It helps to develop their fundamental computer skills, which leads to higher-level learning. Moreover, simple computer programming languages are introduced at this level. Example. BASIC, FORTRAN

Higher Secondary Computer science teaching is at a high level at the higher secondary level. The programming skill-based curriculum is introduced at this level. The languages like C, C++, and Visual Basic and web languages like HTML are in the higher secondary curriculum. It helps to develop their arithmetic and logical thinking, which is reflected in their programming skills.
